Hi from brissy
Hi guys, first post so thought i would say g'day
I'm a boilermaker from brisbane . I went looking for a dr650 a while back and ended up buying a black '09 xtr a week ago , funny the way it worked out. Its basicly standed with a yamaha rear rack , b&b bash plate , bark busters , protapers. Future mods (when my bank stops laughing) are probibly a dyno'd P.C , relocating the headers off the ground where yamaha decided to put them and run them somewhere sesible , 22.5L gilimoto tank and make up some racks for my dry rider soft panniers Its been a while since I rode dirt , but the boys are going up to fraser island later in the year so I better get better . Any way , hi guys |

Brrrr! Enjoy the XTR and the many dirt roads perfect for it... Head straight to Mt Mee (on dirt) from Dayboro and then through to Jimna, Gallangowan and enjoy a good start to any ride. |
Welcome mate.

Good choice

I agree it's rare to see a fellow XT660 rider around these parts. I still can't understand why these bikes are not more popular, all thing considered (price, running costs, versitility, comfort...) Maybe those blokes on WRs and KTMs don't mind dropping $50 worth of oil and servicing after every ride - but me, well my bike's for the long haul. They go okay offroad too, since I'm not into doing 6' drop-off and jumping canyons these days... must be getting old (actually, never jumped a canyon...) Yep, they're heavier than some but not as heavy as others. Definately worth changing the gearing with a bigger back sprocket IMO. You've probably read it already - but your bike will need Kev's O2 controller and fuel mod (in the absence of that PC) to make it more fun. Welcome to the forum and hope to see you out there... http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/...psc1ed7421.jpg |
:hismiley: and welcome to :660:

Fellow Brissy - Welcome
Hi, Yes the once you own the "Black Boy" its amazing how many you see. Mine is an ex UK import but has been set for road use. Hawk Mufflers without the Baffle ... They made a world of difference. I am now looking for Downpipes more for the look then then anything else. Used the bike a lot in Melbourne. Still to find a riding mate..
Would post a pic if I knew how :=( |
Welcome,
I am also in Brizzy, My Bike is more setup for road use as I am from Melbourne and spent most of my time on the road. Keen to catch up |
