Thats one of the reasons I put a Gillimoto tank on the XTR..
It raps around the sides of the radiator...

A light set of bars won't add a lot of top weight..
lot less than what the 22.5L tank dose when full...

I had a close look at my rad the other day and not a mark or bent fin anywhere, just bugs.
After 37k of everyday use and a few 70kph crashes on dirt and gravel and various high speed bush excursions thats pretty good.
I fitted a high fron guard from OTR and it comes down low enough at the back to still offer some protection.
Now we have made comments one of us will probably hole a radiator now. :angryfire:

I bent my radiator in Senegal, after a crash against a rocky ridge.

So now I made an extension to my crashbars.
