Why do you want to update the PCIII firmware what version do you have? http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander/Downloads/powercommander_downloads.aspx?ProdType=PCIIIUSB

To correctly tune your bike with a O2 sensor you need one of Dyno Jet O2 Optimizers or one of my O2 controller, the resistor O2 eliminators do not work so don't waste your money on them.

Never heard of a counter shaft needing adjusting before best get a mechanic to have a look at it, I bet the primary nut on the crankshaft is loose.

cheers kev i will have a proper look in a bit (about to do tea) but the reason why is when i first got the bike with no leads i managed to start the bike to power the commander and found a usb lead to fit so i changed the map .... went to it to put the original map back on and it will not communicate between the commander and the laptop or pc .... i did get a 9volt battery and put wires in the correct holes on the buss plug but still could not get it to communicate the commander its self is working find as its gauge shows but i just cant get the 2 to talk to each other any ideas ? was going to take it passed the local dynojet garage is i think it needs a firmware flash ?

This clip taken from a another forum shows the problem, notice the white mark at the end of the crankshaft and how it stays still while gears move
