Longer Gear Lever

Can anyone point me in the right direction for an after market gear shift ? What with the off road boots and bigger pegs changing gear can be a ***** , having to heal up !!! and i'm crap at it :blob9:

dont know if this helps mate but i filed my gear lever down a bit at the bit which sticks out keeping the gear rubber bit at right angles. this means the gear rubber sits at a different angle which suits my size 12's and allows me to change as normal. (Does that make sense)

Phil

Cut the original and weld a extension in.

Of course you could always go the convoluted way, like this picture I took in Merzouga,of an Italian XR650....move footpeg back, add extensions and bars along with nuts and bolts and a few voodoo spells....

WOW !!!! that pics freaky

I cut and welded a piece into my DR650 stick !!! snapped on a fall last W/E probably my bad welding !!

Just thought there'd be a company out there that did em, it's something that i always carry as a spare along with a clutch lever anyway

I'll keep looking :popcorn2:

Off the road?

Phil,

Off the road sells one - not sure how much bigger it is than standard and it is definitely not adjustable in length - so may not resolve your issue??

It does have a folding tip on it though, which is the reason that I bought it (I am yet to test this feature - give me a couple of weeks). However, with a higher than standard lever placement to use with boots and while standing, it does appear to be closer to the engine case than I would prefer.

At 32.90 - not the most expensive or the cheapest solution and I believe it is a TT re-sold item.

No problem - glad I could help and I quietly hope that it is the right size for your needs.

And yes, the installation instructions are TT and it was definitely cheaper from OTR than TT UK (38!) with the upside of an impressive delivery time.

Nope - I'm not on commission for OTR :D

Cheers,
Dale
