he's driving a dangerous heavy vehicle and using it as a weapon towards another person in an attempt to harm.

No excuse for attempting GBH/murder.

If your filtering causes you to come into contact with cars, then you get off your bike and start punching peoples windows, you are probably going to instigate a confrontation of some kind. Sounds like the bike rider has made a wise decision to retire.

Two less short fuses on the road; better for everyone.

Bad news. It makes me angry to read things like that.

It's a normal days riding in Carlisle. Cars move /change lane without the forethought of mirrors. It is the worst place in the world to filter (which is why I don't do it in this City).

The car gets so close to you, the only option is to reach over and bang on the windows to alert the driver as to his imminent impact ???

Which is normal, mainly due to the total disregard for other road users many cars in this part of the world have......
