Fitting Heated Grips

The winter has gotten the better of me and I've finally succumbed by investing in some heated grips. I'm now faced with my nemesis of 'wiring' stuff on my bike. I'm wiring it into the side lights (so that I don't have to worry about draining the battery by leaving them on) but can't work out which wire is + or -. I have a Blue wire with a red stripe and a dark grey wire.

Any help gratefully received.

only way I do it is cut the PVC off a small area of each wire the. get a head light bulb and two spare wires. the bike will only work with + on one side and - on the other. you can use an oh n meter but I like the old school way

Not sure which model you have but I believe there was a thread that said there was a spare connector behind the panel of the XT660Z that was being use for heater grips, not sure if it is only live with the Ignition on. :smilies0119:

It is live with the ignition on or when the key is in the "P" (parking lights position)
