That is a top job!
With respect to brakes, there is an option made by an English company, EBC Brakes, that you may find local to you? If not, below is their online shop with the kit for 169 which will avoid customs issues across the EU. http://bikes.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/ebc-..._p23293586.htm I believe Talon make a 320mm kit as well, but I was unable to locate an example when I performed a quick search. I have seen one of the above options used on a BMW F650 Dakar with a YZ conversion. |

After reading this thread, I'm about to tackle this mod. KYB forks will be just as good and a hell of a lot cheaper than OTR's WP kit!
I think i have all the bits and pieces, but the main parts I have are... 07 YZ450F forks (re-sprung and valved for the extra weight) 09 WR450F stock triple clamps (apparently the forks will fit :s) - later upgrade to a billet set of triple clamps and get a steering damper. Ramarvarna (or anyone else who has done this mod) can you explain to me the spacer needed for fitting the the WR triple clamps. A close up picture or drawing would be good too if ya can be bothered :). Is it just a flat washer type spacer, or is it a part which will have to be machined? And where does the spacer fit? I just have a stock YZ front wheel and might upgrade later. OTR's WP kit uses a 1.85" wide front wheel. Do you think the wider wheel will have any benefit or advantages over the YZ's 1.6" wide rims? Cheers, Tim. |
