       :hello: and :welcome: to :660:
You could also remove a few layers of foam from the saddle by a bike seat upholsterer who will unstaple the vynil cover, shave a couple of inches of the middle scoop of your seat and then restaple it. I think that is the bess short* rse mod ever! :axe: Simple and effective. |

:006: Hello mate and welcome aboard.
Check out this thread regarding lowering links and forks adjustment... http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=14380 You may need to shorten the side stand with -40mm? |

Hiya and welcome!!! I would strongly suggest that you start using your bike WITHOUT lowering it, as in my experience the handling is far far better unlowered. I lowered my first XT660X, whereas when I replaced it I kept the new one at the standard height and I got used to it within a week or so, and I found that the handling was really MUCH better than the lowered version. Have fun!! And yes if you do lower it then you need to shorten the side stand.

       hi all.
leaving the bike standard is not a option. but i do think that i need to ride it a bit to feel the steering before and after to feel the steering problems you guys keep talking about. the side stand is a problem i didnt think about. |
