Zumo 660

Hi,
anyone got a Zumo 660 fitted to the Z? I am in the finding of buying some maybe and would like see if it is to big for the cockpit. Right now I use a Garmin Zumo 220 and the size is quiet well. But the device is definitly to slow when it comes to move or turn maps on the display during riding.

Regards
Marcus

I've got the 660 but not fitted to a Tenere. From what I hear the bar just below the screen is too close to fit the 660 however Touratech do a mount to move it a bit further away.

I have installed a Zumo 660 to the Ten without any problem.
A regular RAM-mount as pictured below with the plastic inserts for the thinner bar above the cockpit and it's all good.

Hi, do you have a picture of your cockpit? That'd be great.

I'd go for the Touratech Mount

If you ride off road a lot the standard mount shakes themselves to pieces after 5000km of vibration (I had two under warranty). The TT mount (as much as I hate the company, thanks yet again for the 6 month wait for a chain guard Touratech Australia) holds the unit to the power and communication pins much firmer. Because the real advantage of the 660 is the phone, gps and entertainment system, (8 gig mini SD is a lot of tunes or talking books to listen too).

I haven't got a close-up pic of the 660 mount.
But here's (a partial) one of the 550 mounted on my previous Ten. I would recommend using the Rammount I posted earlier in stead of the one shown in the picture below. It gives you a bit more clearance from the screen and more flexibility in positioning the Zumo just right for you..

Here's a more recent one with the 660 mount. If you squint you can see how it is positioned above the cockpit.

I've attached my 550 Zumo to the bars with the Zumo mount and after plenty of action on and off road it's in exactly the same place.

Personally I don't like the Sat Nav too high and find this set up spot on.

Thanks for the pictures everybody. This gives me an idea of how it's gonna look like.

i mounted my 660 on the top bar above the clocks thought it was a brill position till i started the bike. it was vibrating to much for me so it is mounted on the handle bars still a bit of vibration but not as much.
cheers
