Sidecar for Tenere?

Right now I'm at the beginning of the removable sidecar for my 10.

Hope it will be finished before Christmas. The goal of it is going for Elephant Treffen 2013 ) http://www.alteselefantentreffen.com/

Helgi, I assume you're going for something like this...

Rather than like this...

Although I rather like this...

...would suit the Ten very well.

What you got in mind?

mash101 09-10-12 20:14

OMG!! Awesome! Are you going to put the missus in it???

tripletom 09-10-12 22:43

I also shall be watching with interest. I have mulled it over briefly before and thought about making a subframe as the best method of attaching the chair. How are you doing it?

Helgi 10-10-12 22:34

Right now we're trying to calculate stress points. Sadly enough, Ten do not have full frame, so it could be impossible to create rigid subframe without danger to damage original part of the frame (especially front one) cause of sidecar movements.
Will post a result of our checks later...

This video shows an outfit made to fit an XT660R which seems to work pretty well (he's even converted to Earles forks!)

Wish I could understand more German though!

Understanding normal German won't help in this case, they are talking 2 types of Bavarian slang :002:

First he explained that there are 3 interchangeable wheels, they use wheels from a Smart (you know, this small so called "car")

Then they talked about the changing from a normal boat to an Enduro boat as shown in the video (and make some jokes, that you are allowed to use more of these Alu-boxes, up to a high of 4 meter)

The third guy is a customer and give some comments concerning the hack, he likes it.
