touratech handguards

just installed by TT handguards to my 11 plate tenere and the levers seem to slightly tap the huandguards. just wondered if anyone had any suggestions or experience with these particular handguards. they are the closed TT ones

I have Acerbis handguards fitted.....proper enduro type ones with an alloy strengthening bar incorporated...my clutch lever ball rubbed against the inside of the plastic..so I just cut it off with a hack saw whilst I ordered two new shorty levers....

I think it was only about 26 quid for two...and they're adjustable for reach which helps a lot...no more levers rubbing

:)

I fitted these with the original bar end weights.
Three things you can try.
1. Heat the outer ends in boiling water and bow out as much as you can.
2. Fit washer/s between the grips and outer end mounts - make sure correct outer diameter so as not to foul throttle movement.
3. Move brake and clutch lever inwards as much as possible.

Trouble is that the mounting arangements are not the best and any knocks will easily move them about a bit - great weather protection though.

I've had TT on mine for 45,000m. Didn't like the way they fitted and my front brake lever got bent twice when it went over twice. And my clutch lever hits the guard all the time. Wouldn't buy them again, bit weak IMHO. Would probably go for BarkBusters next time.

Thanks for that thread, haven't read it before.

I think I have seen these somewhere else to a slightly different price. (Only 700% higher)
