Yamaha Tenere Adventure Jacket & Trousers - 49 each!
Don't know if anyone is interested but I just bought a set of official Yamaha Tenere Adventure Jacket and Trousers for 49 each on Ebay. Can't do links, but the item numbers are 130759187742 and 130770054391. Postage comes in around 15. According to the yamaha accessories page on their website, these retail at over 400!
They seem to have a number of jackets at different sizes but only XL trousers. No idea what they'll be like, but at that price they've got to be worth a shot. I need a replacement for my Akito desert suit that has seen better days (has been great for the price mind!). |
They can't ship to Brazil..... I hate our country international affairs...

Went to get a set and they have sold out of the grey trousers. DAM

Thanks for letting us know about this. Just bought a jacket, no trousers left but had just bought some vanucci anyway which I think will be a reasonable match.
Thanks again :yahoo: |
You are most welcome.
I hope we've all bought the correct size! I bought mine and then did a google search for a product review. There's a good one at www.dualsportafrica.com/yamahatouringoutfitreview.htm which seems to rate the kit, but suggests the size guide is perhaps misleading - with XXL more like an L. I ordered an XL jacket, so hope it isn't really like a medium or large and the trousers described as 36/38 - which shoukd be good if they're smaller, as I'm a 34. We shall see ... |
can I say
I really hate the whole "corporate dress code look" and I wouldn't be seen dead in one of these jackets.
Oh come on, really are you sure you want to go out in public dressed like a BMUU motorrad clad dill. When I see riders in the matching apparel I just think to myself. That guy might be Wayne Ker, and being a polite person I'll say: "Hello Wayne Ker!" Just an observation and an opinion, you don't have to agree... |
Got to love uk for yamaha stuff...so much cheaper

I had heard that the jackets can be quite short..maybe double check on that before buying....??
Just say'in like :) . |

Hardly very intelligent to judge someone in such derogatory terms based on nothing but their attire, like judging someone on the colour of their skin, hair or religion. I'd rather wear a well fitted, zipped together piece of protective clothing, than worrying about what someone though I looked like. |
I bought one for 60 I think at a local shop and can attest to its waterproofness already! I did, however, buy the XL so I can bung mx armour under it. I was going to buy an RST item but the 140 quid I saved will enable me to tattoo
I RIDE A YAMAHAon my forehead :D

Got to disagree Wooton Boy. Corporate or not, quality clothing comes at a price and Yamaha brand is good or we wouldn't all be on here extolling the virtues of their machines. Quality at this price is worth having IMHO. Check out your wardrobe...any logo's there and if so did you buy for the quality or for the logo?
Also agree with Gas up and Go. VERY JUDGEMENTAL although I realise it is just an opinion no matter how ill judged. :icon_razz: |
Jacket arrived today, great quality and good fit. Thanks Loopydog for pointing this sale out. Going to get one for my partner if there are any left.:blob3:

I am looking for a good jacket and for the price, these appear to be amazing value.
Unfortunately the seller will not post to Australia. My only chance would be if some kind soul in the UK would be prepared to take delivery and post it to Australia for me. Naturally I would cover the costs involved and extend to them my eternal gratitude. If anyone here on xt660.com feels they would be prepared to do this, please contact me by PM. |
Toenail - is the jacket the size you expected and ordered? ie XL and is XL. I ask because I haven't got mine yet (in Germany, but sent to my UK address where I'll be in a week or so) and the review I read said they were perhaps smaller than the label size suggests - ie XXL is like a normal XL.
+ thanks for the support guys. Noticed and appreciated. |
I got a 2XL which is the same size as a HG Jacket I have. It is shorter and a snug fit with the warm lining in but not tight. I have long arms and the fit is good there, plenty of movement and not tight at the shoulders. I havent had it on zipped to my trousers yet but it does have a full zip for this. Will be using it tomorrow so if my opinion changes I will let you know but I am well pleased so far even at twice the price.
Hope this helps |
Wow - that's some saving over retail!
They didn't fall off the back of a container ship did they??!! |
I'd quite happily ride around in this kit, but on my Yamaha only..

Hi all
I invested 50 on one of these. I'm 5'11" 12st with 34 waist and 40+ chest I went for a large jacket and it fits spot on. Quality seems excellent. Haven't tested water-proofness yet. I will try and find a meatier back protector - but that's just my preference for long distance comfort and warmth and not a negative for the jacket. Does seem a bargain, and I have no issues riding anything in it, so long as it's comfy safe and dry. Rob |
Had these for almost a year and they have been a brilliant buy - especially at 49.99!
Happy to be a Yamaha-riding, Yamaha-attired, Wayne Ker! |
I have several Yamaha jackets so count me in as a Wayne!!! They had several of their jackets made by Dainese so the quality is excellent and yes the sizes DO vary from jacket to jacket as they use different manufacturers. Try Alf England as they do have some of the jackets and their service is good,
www.yamahaclothing.co.uk I think....
