Daft idea, probably won't work, but free, quick and easy - have you tried changing the display units to Km and then back to miles?
|
Being digital, surely it would go to 999,999 and then either stop or go back to zero. On a similar topic, many years ago I had a TS250 whose odometer wouldn't go past point 9 unless the bike was going faster than 58mph. That kept the mileage down!

The self test on start up shows the LCD digits 188,888 which should in theory allow for a maximum count of 199,999 mi..........
:eusa_think: ..... D'oh!! :eusa_wall: The odometer is SWITCHABLE!! which I guess means it max's out at 199,999 kms not 199,999 miles. So at 124,300 miles I'm only 700 miles short of maxing out. Hopefully Yamaha UK might shed some light on this. I did try as you suggest Pleiades but just managed to reset trip 1 cos I couldn't remember the correct procedure at the time, I'll try again tomorrow. I wonder if this Ten's days are numbered.......err, as it were :081: |
Ignition off. Hold select and reset down while turning the ignition back on. Then select Km.
By my reckoning 124,300 miles is 200,041 Km? |
I must have not pressed one of the buttons hard enough! :gay:
I think your calculator is broken :tongue11: miles:kms = 5:8 |
Don't think so - 1Km is equal to 0.621 miles.

Yes of course it is...just testing......honest!
:door: So used to years of using the 5:8 ratio that I forgot it was an approximation. That's it then...the odometer has maxed out. Will await a reply from Yamaha to see if a reset is possible.... |
You bloody champion, RickM! Getting an odo to max out is a major event, imo.

Not when you've gotta start worrying about reliability and increased maintenance costs. ;-( :support:
However, in all those miles I can't recall any mechanical failures - just parts wearing out (including main bearings). Strictly speaking, as I've been running a 47 tooth rear sprocket (4.44444444......% bigger) the odometer has been over reading for sometime so the actual mileage is probably 2-3000 miles less. |
