Major coolant loss!

The other day, after a long ride I ended up with the coolant leaking from the bike, in the middle of Lincoln High Street! :hmh:

Care off ABR website:
http://www.adventurebikerider.com/fo...t-leakage.html
( Had to do it this way for I could not simply up-load the pic alone!!???? :support:)

It truns out that the reason for this leakage was that the jubilee-clip from the large pipe, pictured in link above, had come lose :smilies0966:

After four years ownership and 23,000 miles it, strangely, decided to come undone, so, the moral of this story, just double-check your pipes, clips etc
:smilies0330:

You'll be able to unpload pics...I use www.tinypic.com

Set up a user account ..upload pics e.g. from you desktop and then copy and paste (to here)the serial number from the pic within Tinypic.

It must be a Tenere thing. I checked all my coolant hose clamps a couple of weeks ago, and they were all in need of tightening.

In hindsight, perhaps I should've posted soemthing, but I figured it was just my bike...

On the strength of this thread.......did the same and a few could be tightened up a couple of turns.....

Thanks...... kicking myself for not doing normal checking....I do it on my off road moto(never had a hose come off)...why not road moto?....ho hum... have to step it up a notch and approach the XTZ with the same mind set lol... :)

I think the guys on the production line were a bit limp-wristed; didn't have the strength to tighten jubilee clips, push home regulator connections or operate a grease gun! ;)

Methinks it is post-siesta syndrome. A lot of bikes from a certain Mediterranean country have had heaps of these irregularities... In my experience, of course. Ours are clearly not exempt, as Pleiades has correctly pointed out!

Once, many moons past, I was a Benelli sales geek (among other equally unsavoury activities). We uncrated a 650 twin and found an empty vino bottle. Everyone was annoyed. Could've sent a full one, the mongrels.
