Great and informative topic!

In March 2016 ill be riding around in Morocco for almost 3 weeks. No fixed plans yet, just the dates that i will arrive in Spain and pick up my Tenere from the shipping company

I'll have a look at your map and route tips, thanks!

We are going to Morocco in April 2016, two bikes, two riders from Bulgaria.

Why in March, it will be to cold?

Seems like there could be a few of us in Morocco in the Spring; it would be great if we could all meet there!
Can you delay your trip by a few months Lankyrider?

darkhelmet 20-12-15 13:48

Well, i want a holiday soon, and March was the first opportunity to get my bike transported there. Simple :)

It can't be that bad in March, because there's plenty of organized tours in december/january in Morocco

The weather is very unpredictable and it's common for flash floods to occur. March is a good month to go; the higher roads across the Atlas should be clear.

If I'm in the same work situation I'd certainly like to join you all! Same goes for any riding going on in the UK through this winter.

It sounds like the Atlas mountains pose the biggest problem in the winter, but that you can skirt round them through Agadir to get south if snow is a problem.

There's a few routes across the atlas, the major one being the tizi'n'ticha which the buses use. As a major route, when it is blocked by snow it usually opens within a few days.
If in a hurry to get across you are correct in taking the Agadir route which is now connected to Marrakech by an Autoroute.
