Gravel/off-road in Belgium (?)

Hi,
does anyone know some nice gravel roads or off-road in Belgium? I live in Germany (Essen), where all green lanes and gravel roads are only for farmers (not even mentioning trying to ride in a forest...).
Any specific area or roads would be great. I have heard that there are some nice opportunities to to this kind of riding in South Belgium. Is it true?
Cheers, Greg

I live in Flanders and don't really go riding green lanes in the south so I can't really help you with tips.
But in Belgium forests are generally off limits to motorized vehicles. In the south there can be some exceptions on private land, but you would need permission of the owners to ride there.
Sometimes there are large organized rides/rallies like the Trans-Ardenaise for which special permissions are granted through regions that are normally forbidden.
If you stick to the farmland trails and gravel roads that are not marked as private of have other prohibitive signs you should be ok.

Thanks for an answer. I went once to Belgium, just before my trip to Pyrenees last year, to train a little bit. I was in the region between Namur, Liege and Leuven. However I found those roads a bit dull.
I mentioned south of Belgium, because i have found already on some other forums that people recommend that region. Second ago I bought a Michelin map from Amazon and will just ride there for the weekend :-). I thought, that maybe someone knows some particularly nice road or region down there.

Maybe www.wikilocs.com might spit something out for you?.....

(I use this to ride in Spain)

you could try contacting forum member Kemizz. He has some experience riding off-road in the Ardennes, he could have some tips for you.

here's a video he posted on some forums: https://vimeo.com/46566103

I have checked the wikiloc website, but they do not have anything listed in enduro/trail riding.
Yeah, I've seen the movie by Kemizz. The area looks quite nice. Thanks for suggestions.
