Hello
Hello,
New to all this so bear with me ! Formerly rode enduros in the 80's and 90's also like big singles (bikes that is !) Had a XT600 Tenere a few years back and always liked the big Yamahas. had a 2009 XTX for almost a year now and have fitted Kev mod and adjusted CO but can' t get clean throttle response coming off closed throttle entering corners. Very annoying as it upsets balance and also my confidence. Waiting for kevs new plug and play O2 eliminator to make it the bike I always hoped it could be. I have a Montesa 4RT trials bike with the most incredible accurate and responsive injection system you could imagine (think HRC moto gp technology in your own garage and you're somewhere near). If the XT could be set up like this it would be awesome. |
:006: Welcome aboard oldf4art
Knackered cush drive rubbers on the XT can cause a very similar effect to what you are describing? |
Is it a Repsol?
|
Thanks,
I did the old inner tube mod recently to tighten this up and was surprised how much difference it made. Also the amount of chain slack makes a big difference. The bike is better than it was. When I fitted MTC cans and K&N filter it was quite bad. Kev has a new "plug and play" O2 eliminator which I'm waiting for to see if I can get the last bit |
No, not a Repsol. Too expensive. Chose to keep my 2009 and have an XT aswell !
The 2009 had a lot of upgrades which are not obvious until you ride it. Repsol has a programmable ECU which you can plug into laptop and remap at your leisure - doesn't actually need it. If only the XT was this good. I'll keep trying. |
And it's :hello: and :welcome: to :660: from me too
|
Hi oldf4RT and :welcome: from me, :newhere: too! I've got a 2009 XTX as well.
Have you tried adjusting your TPS yet? That may help a bit. And what have you set your CO value to? |
Ride it like you stole it mate:team[1]:

Welcome mate.

Kev,
Just so you know who I am, you just posted my plug and play O2 eliminator to the UK yesterday ! I thought it was about time I joined up ! |
