Bashplate options for 2 into 1 exhaust
Hi everyone,
I am just about to order a MM 2:1 exhaust and am trying to figure out which bashplate is best suited for my needs. So what does everyone have and pros and cons for it? I am wanting to also put a centre stand on so the bashplate needs to fit with centre stand and also I would really like engine/crash bars too. Not sure if any 2:1 bashplate fits crash bars though. The MM 2:1 bashplate looks like it would protect the engine and water pump but I'm not entirely sure, also it is huge. The OTR 2:1 bashplate definitely can't fit crash bars and looks less protective than the MM one. Some people have mentioned using tenere bashplates but do they really fit? Thanks SKT |

Some people have mentioned using tenere bashplates but do they really fit? Thanks SKT[/quote] YES I had a B&B tenere bash plate on my XTR with MM 2 into 1 The front mount fits... the rear you have to drill 2 8mm holes in the plate so you can bolt it to the ex pipe mount lugs on the frame. It would not interere with a centre stand.... http://imageshack.us/a/img197/9273/ssa41793.jpg By petenz at 2012-02-20 |
The MM bash plate isn't that huge. My wife's XTR has a Touratech bash plate with standard exhausts. That plate is huge, my MM equipped XTR looks tiny in comparison.

Does the MM plate allow foe a centre stand? Petenz, Nice bike! I'm still not sold on the xtz plate idea but it's growing on me. |

I took the B&B plate off the XTR & put it on my
XR250 Tornado..no one makes plates for the Tornado model.. I have been looking at the OTR plate was about to order one but noticed they are only 3mm alloy:088:.. The XTR not having a sub frame.. I would feel happyer with a 5mm plate... A pitty as the OTR is a nice looking unit... will prob go with the OTR plate... As Metal mule want 105pound to ship there plate, OTR want 23pound.... A no brainer really... |
