Hi I Just bought an XT660R Black 2006 mod.
I dont have the red key. Is it not possible to order a new key then?? Do I have to change the whole immobilizer "Brain"? How much will this cost?

Yes when you don't have a red key, you are compelled to buy a new ECU. ignition barrel and seat lock barrel.

As for the prices it is expensive but these costs change from country to country and with Norway being extremely expensive in everything you would have to check with your local Yamaha dealer.

HI and welcome!,

if the red key is missing it's really only needed when you have a problem with the ordinary black keys. the red key is used to program new keys, so until you break the ordinary keys don't worry!
