Hand Guard Options for the XTR

Evening All

After some suggestions for Hand Guards for stock XTR bars?

Have looked at Acerbis but seem a bit fiddly to fit (wont fit around the wires etc and brake lever too long etc)

So - has any one retro fitted a set of Tenere1200 hand guards ?

The 1200 attaches above and below the mirror with little brackets

I am not looking at any serious protection just for warmth / wind deflection

Cheers

Marc

I am inclined to agree.

The Acerbis ones fit fine, but I wish I had got barkbusters.

Sent from my iPhone with a smile :)

Yep Bark Busters are the top o the tree but you may want the Storm version (bigger plastic and tad more weather protection / warmth).

Don`t want to rubbish Acerbis but they bend to easy (my mates have crash tested both).

Thanks Boneman and all

Looking at the Barkbusters site ( www.barkbusters.net)

So...want to make sure I get all the right parts

* VPS BHG1 (including Backbone)
* BSC STD Mounting Kit

Question: How do the VPS integrate with the existing Bar end weights and bar end insert bolts?

I prefer to keep the bar ends (for vibration free) and not have to hammer out the inserts.

(OH - BTW Had the storms on my GSX. Dont like the way they wrap around and under the bar , plus I think they are Ugly)

Thanks

Marc

Try these as bar end weights...

Better still replace the crappy standard bars & try them without the bar end weights. I found that I didn't need the weights with the new renthal bars after my crash (Cue Supamanaint to take the piss).

Good luck, Boneman

Ok I'll bite haha........

Thats the great thing about this site, not only do people test and provide postive feedback on the strenghts and weaknesses of products but they also unselfishly provide their mates with great entertainment whilst doing so!

Yes Bonehead oops Boneman can tell you how weak the standard bars are and put on a good show whilst doing so.:rofl[1]:

You can get small bar end weights from Barkbuster to fit with the guards if worried about vibes.

I have a cheap ones from Polisport. So far they are in one peace, and are doing fair job protecting my hands.
When i manage to crack them, and i did try on several occasions, i'll go with BB too.

Here they are, on the Renthal TW RC High.
