ok! so part of my news is at least a month old, I've finally finished restoring the ktm dakar bike and it's at it's home in the wicklow hills

yep it's been a while. the engine is basically two engines made into one , and i guess a strip down and refurb of the rest, things like an quiet exhaust baffle insert made up cos it was ear splittingly loud more photos at. http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z.../lakes%202012/ [It's only recently i worked out this public photo thingy!]

The other news is I'm going back to DAKAR!, yep not on a bike tho, i've been asked to work as a mechanic on the heroes event for team desert rose. i get expences and an adventure, they get a some one to mess up thier ktm's [only kidding!]. so roll on 3 weeks in october

If ever there was a more arduous, thankless job than a rally mech.

Sleep every chance you get, eat when you can and if you get chance take your camera, you may get to use it.

Now you get to see from the other side as you have ridden the rally.
