One of my all time favourite roads from my trip to Scotland in 2010.

After crossing the Skye Bridge we then made our way via the A87 to Invergarry and then the A82 to Ben Nevis.

I really enjoyed the A87. Lots of gentle sweeping curves. Didn't bother changing gear very often, just used the torque of the engine (I was on my GS) and cruised along.

Yes, it's my favourite Scottish ride too, the Five Sisters,,, Loch Gary (and the viewpoint).

I'm getting a bit jealous of all this road trip talk..

I did a similar trip a couple of years ago was a thread on here but looks to have gone. I wanted to go north up the coast right to the top. Basic plan - split the trip up into days, pick out some campsites and do a route in-between that took us off the A-roads and skirted the coast/lochs as much as possible on the wee roads.

We did stay at the campsites on the days I planned, but didn't always stick %100 to the route in-between. Spent two nights in Tayvallich after a long first day and Arisaig (fantastic place) just to chill out, sober up and have a bit of time off the bikes.

Applecross

Scourie

Lairg

Roybridge

In the nine days we got to the top and back, and went to some stunning places, no doubt rode right past hundreds of others. Trouble is you're not going to get everywhere in one go.

PM me your email I have some kml files.

Jas ive just done a day trip from glasgow up to oban via the most coastal roads and at 60mph on the Tiger 1050 it was just bliss, i very rarely went above 65-70mph all day, most of the time crusing at 55-65mph. Piccies to come soon with a road map.

How was the trip? - if I remember correctly the weather was stunning around that time.
