I found the most expensive non genuine part upgrade
I couldn't find a suitable solid mounting on the XTZ for this small non genuine part.
After finding the part(it doesn't exist on microfiche or in workshop manuals)and after searching I found a suitable well balanced solid mounting and support brackets to enable this part to handle the extreme leverage and extensive usage not only for what it was designed for but in one that such a part would endure...... One might say a mounting system such as this is too expensive in proportion to the size/cost of the actual part but I disagree...I thought it was a snip at over €500 compared to the proportion of benefit one gets from having such a part fitted. After extensive testing I can quite categorically state that the part does in fact hold up to 100% of all the promises that the manufacturer states without fault of any kind. A bonus to this mounting system is that I'm sure if I thought long and hard enough I could maybe use the mounting system for something else?...Any ideas? Genius, and lets face it we have all seen fuel and water bottles on the back of boxes, I reckon a couple of optics would be better.

I keep my ktm bottle opener/ 13mm spanner on constant stand by in my tool kit, don't ever leave home without it!
cool pannier addition! |
Now if only Gas Gas would supply a corkscrew I might be tempted to buy another one...I wonder does Norman Watt have one of those in his microfiche? lol

You I mean I wasted all that money on that mounting system when there was already a bottle opener there all the time??..... sheeesh....could'nt see the wood for the trees.... :)
Maybe I can then use the mounting system to maybe...what...say carry beer?.... :) |

Plus, it has 4 bottle openers ! :icon_cheers: |
Now why haven't I noticed that before?
Obviously designed for the German market I suppose :boozer: |
pah...just for a tray of cheap canned beer.....Us Yamaha riders...WE drink our beer out of bottles don't you know...

I have one of those bottle openers in my house, cunningly screwed to the wall next to fridge!
Tip: make sure the rivits are really well anchored. I suspect the leverage from opening bottles will wear the rivits out VERY quickly & you'll need to replace with stainless screws/nuts. i had to put beefier rawl plugs into wall!! |
You must be over using your opener..or is that actually ever possible....?
