DIY A4 map holder

I just love maps and don't own one of those magic electronic gizmos that speaks to you when you want to know where you are going.
I made this up today after much deliberation (f...ing aboot) on the ins and oots of buy it, adapt it or just make one up.

It will take a laminated A4 map and still allow you access to the petrol cap.

But I intend buying this to fit on the holder.

Keith, there was enough blood flying about with just me and an angle grinder never mind getting a bottle of whisky involved.:onetequila:

Looks very handy that, good work. You just need an Anglepoise lamp! ;) Might have the bonus of stopping turbulence too?

That went through my mind too. Might also double up as a handy picnic table!:laughing3:

If you make another one, put it upside down on the bottom, you could sleep on it,, :pjrmoony_1JJHDG:

What about 3 ceramic flying ducks stuck to it whilst you're at it?

Loomks great. How and with what did you mount it to the Handlebars or the cross stay. I was looking to mount an abs Water proof box in the same place place to hold the switches and cables etc. and would be interested to know.

Many thanks

Hi Colin,

Mounted it to the cross stay using pipe brackets - well half a pipe bracket.
I used the half at the top of the pictore but you could use the complete bracket if you could make use of the female threaded socket to mount the unit on to so that it stood off the cross stay - if you know what I mean.
