This is how it looks like mine on a 2007 XTX....

It made a difference on the ride. The wind doesn't blow on my chest anymore, only on the helmet I feel it...Now the ride is more comfortable.

hi lampisd, my bike is the xtr. went for a ride on saturday and was happy with the puig screen better than the yam screen, sorry no photos as yet

I have the original yammy high screen on my 08 xtr - I find wind load on the body is a lot better. Makes high speed for extended periods a lot easier on the arms!

However, it creates a lot of turbulence around the helmet and makes it very noisy. Tends to even shake the helmet around a lot. I'm actually considering putting the small screen back on, as even my non faired tiny 250 roadbike is quieter to ride. I'm 1.84m - don't know what that's in imperial.

Hi mate,

it is always up to you and your preference here some guys are looking for the ultimate "barn door" screen protection other will aim for naked style. Anyway your choice will have to depend on where and how you ride. The tall yamaha screen does a good job at 70ish speeds and will be very useful for touring. But the smaller OE screen is fine up to 60ish and for commuting/weekend backroad ride.
I would just recommend you try the short one (as you have ridden with the tall one) and choose the one that works best for you.

I had the tall Yamaha screen and although it completely took the wind off my chest the amount of buffeting and wind noise to my helmet was terrible, and started at speed of 30mph upwards! I found if i sat bolt upright it went away, so depending how tall you are you may or may not be effected. I am just under 5'8".

I then fitted a Puig screen - i found it a very good compromise between the oem and touring screens; it takes alot of the wind off your chest to make cruising easier, without the buffeting that the tall screen created.

I have the Puig screen up for sale, its got a couple of holes drilled in it but they are covered buy a nice xt660.com sticker so cant be seen, i will post pictures on here in the next day or so when i get time, just in case anyone is interested.
