I don't know if they're thinking of running another RallySprint later in the year, or leaving it till next year. There's several more rallies in a more traditional format (fewer, longer laps with multiple specials per lap) over the rest of the year, the next one being the Kielder at the start of June.

Details on the UK rallies are on www.bigbikerallychallenge.co.uk. There's also the forum at www.rallymoto.co.uk.

The BBRC organisers also run training weekends at Sweet Lamb (near Llanidloes in mid-Wales, same venue as the race on Sunday) throughout the year. I went to one last September, and I'm going again in a few weeks time - April 28/29, think there's still spaces left. It's not a cheap weekend but it will massively improve your riding.

They're all amateur rallies ;). You'll have people like Patsy Quick and Craig Bounds at the sharp end, but there's plenty more like me wobbling around at the back.

Training looks fab! Will have to look into it and see if I can afford it this month! I guess you have to use your own bike. And I guess they will require a minimum tyre of tkc80 or similar?

hi Chris, as Uber suggests a go at one of the schools would be very useful,

there is another way!

why not go along to something like these [ http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=18658 ], all levels catered for, stick some knobblies on, common sense stuff like offroad boots etc and give it a shot, If you are not enjoying the run drop out and head back to base. I had a problem in a welsh adv meet recently and had to do just that, had plenty of fun on the ickle roads tho!.

I am not in the rally scene, I still do enduro's on with more focused bikes and enjoy the challenge of the bigger bikes offroad, so worth checking out joining the TRF and keeping an eye out for runs like http://adv rider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=749390 or http://adv rider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=764812 [just copy and paste to browser and remove the gaps in the forum name or search]

fun in the country
