as already said cracking bike I have the xt660x also waiting for better weather manged to get out last week Saturday up to Settle way to Ribblehead. I was going to bridge but hands to cold not as young as I was turned around went home.

Been let down by the garage dam it in so pissed off got a call to say problem with engine and they wont sell it, but i think they sold to someone after i gave them the deposit, so im on the look out AGAIN

Hi all now have an 04 xt and im taking for mot tomoz will post pics asap so you can all see it not as good as the 07 i was let down on but it will do untill i can upgrade

I have an 07 XTX and it's great, but can't see what's so wrong with an 04. Just follow the extensive guides on here and you'll have it sorted soon, if it isn't already of course.
I actually prefer the look of the pre 07 models with the longer front cowls and slightly rounder bodywork.
Not that I'm offering a swap or anything, but be happy, you've got a great bike. Any pics?

I have an 08 XTX
I rewired it 2004 style and replaced ECU also.
Bike now runs much better.
So, I think, in theory, your 04 bike will run smoother than the 07 model.. ;)
I don't know how the other year bikes compare but my 08 didn't run so well before ECU swap. LambdaBolx
