Finally shortened folding levers for a gr8 price

I hope this link works
Bought a set...finally a set at a good price...Ive been waiting for these for my bike since l bought it, and couldnt justify the $200+ cost from buying overseas

I'm always a bit apprehensive about buying from abroad. Especially when the English in the advert isn't all that great.

Any pics?

shrekka 25-02-12 04:49

i bought them just today

i bought these for my R1 and they were great...

pommie 25-02-12 06:53

You could of saved a lot of money and bought some bush guards I've got set on my xt come off a few times and nothing broken on handle bars broke other stuff....lol

i already have Barkbusters on my bike

i prefer shortened levers, than the standard ones you get... always have..

we all have different preference in what we want for our bikes..

Reason why l put this on, is because Titax levers are a rediculous price,
At least now someone on ebay has a similar item for a much better price..
Even look at Redracing parts prices, you must be joking...

Good luck to you with the levers - I hope they turn out good. For me (call me a pessimist) something just doesn't feel right about putting my trust in a Chinese lever operating something as vital as my front brake. I've seen some really sh!t metalwork, particularly brittle recycled alloys coming out of China, but to be fair they are getting better at it all the time. However, I must stress that this is just personal opinion...

I have the non folding type on my Ten, they are great.

I saw a guys bike the other day and said oh you have those cheap ebay levers like me ! he replied no they cost me 200.

no matter how hard i looked I could not tell any difference.

plus if you have these levers behind brush guards then they shouldnt be an issue anyway.

i will get some pictures up as soon as l get them...
just click the link i put on the 1st post, will take you directly to them. he doesnt do them for the 660z levers, well not yet
i used the same brand of levers on my R1 and they were great...no problems with them

shrekka 01-03-12 05:25

Levers have arrived

Hi there everyone,

As promised l would show you the levers from ebay
Got them today, quick delivery too..well packaged and looked well made..nice and smooth alloy pieces, and look good quality
BUT theres a but...the front brake lever didnt have the hole drilled out of it for the spring...i used from small 2 mm to 6 mm drill bits to get the approx right size to match the std Yamaha lever...AND IT WORKED!!!!! Works actually bloody great...
Clutch was no problem on installation either...and feel great...worth the $$$ l reckon...
i have attached photos

timboo 01-03-12 14:43

Yeah they look good. Im always in fear of buying outside of Europe due to tax issues and if postage goes wrong. Are you from uk presume there were no hidden costs from customs etc

shrekka 02-03-12 04:26

Yes very happy with the levers

Timbo, my 1st message l done has the link to them.. He sent them quick to me in Australia...
he dropped the price now to $80USD...delivered... Stupid me just bought a another set,...hehehehe..
i emailed seller and told them the problem. i sent him photos and they said they are going to deal with it...(that hole for spring is missing)
i had a similar pair on my R1 and loved the feel of those levers compared to std ones...well worth it i reckon

Can't be much weaker than the ****ty cast items that come as standard... Plus if your pulling your front brake hard enough to snap a lever your in toruble already.

I was really thinking more of stress fatigue and fracturing over time which "could" result in a sudden break. You've got to remember that (although cosmetically sh!tty) the OE levers will have been tested, and properly, Chinese levers most certainly won't have been! My brother owns a Skyteam franchise in Harrogate and honestly some of the metalwork is laughable, he has to spend many an hour straightening things out during PDI including replacing levers with Honda items! But, like I said, its just my opinion based on the evidence.

By the way - hello and welcome to the forum! ;)

shame none of you had seen my post on all the mods and upgrades i'm doing after 50,000 miles...the post is here - http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=18703

if you go to post #32 you'll see these levers on on off the bike and the link to them on ebay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/170694297800...#ht_6549wt_960

i found them for $40.99 with free worldwide shipping, they are CNC machined and have been hard anodised - choice of colors

i work in a CNC shop right now, checked them out thoroughly and they seem well made

so you don't need to do any modifications these are the parts you need as they don't specifically stock for the XTZ

Suzuki - GSXR 600 1997 - 2003 Clutch
Yamaha - FJR 1300 2004 - 2008 Brake

rtwpaul 10-05-12 05:34

if you order from the same guy i did the quality is good and half the price this one you are showing...put them on and just ride as normal

feck 10-05-12 11:34

He is buying them for an x/r though and I think the perch is different.

iShoe 28-05-12 15:25
