XT spokes..
Dose anyone ealse have rusty spokes...:sad5:
Is there anywhere that sells stainless steel spokes for a XTR... |
yes
particularly the front its caused by the bi metal that is used in the brake pads having a galvanic effect with the tin on the metal spokes.
its because some bean counter somewhere said... 'Oi we can save $10 a bike by using inferior Italian junk' rather than doing it properly: ie XT's build from 1965 - 2004. Yamaha doesn't do warranty on it either. BUT don't get me started. I am eventually going to replace all mine. JTR in Australia does spoke sets to fix the problem. |
JTR ?... John Titman Racing ?
dam sport don't point me towards sites like that... my credit cards already feeling nervis...:icon_sad: New spokes / gold rims...:drool[1]: maybe blue...green were pretty kool to... |

Spokes? Get them?
Petenz, did you manage to find stainless spokes?
I'm gonna be looking for some for my XTX. I suspect I could take these current spokes out, spend a lot of time and elbow grease cleaning them up, and before you know it they will have started rusting again. So why bother, I'd rather just straight off get the stainless ones ... if they exist ... |
they exist here in greece.
