I currently use the SWM footpegs and am really impressed, well made, well priced. They give a much bigger platform for your foot (wider and longer) making longer journeys a much more pleasant experience. They transmit less vibes than the OE ones too. Big plus for me is the fact (like the stock pegs) they have removable rubbers. If you spend a lot of time off-road, then you'd might be better of with Pivot Pegz, a lot more grip on boot than SWM with rubber removed, very well engineered, but they are very costly.

I use pivot pegz, well made, fit well, work well,
But i do ride 80% off road, you can feel very slightly more vibes, because of no rubber inserts, but thats why i ride a single. LOL
Hope this helps.

I have xtr and have had a look at removing the rubbers, it seems to me they ar NOT removeable I am correct or am I missing something

If the R is the same as the Z, which I guess it might be, then there's a bolt under the footrest to remove in order to release the rubber. Lift the peg up on its spring and you should see it, or get on your hands and knees!
