Thanks everyone for your input. Took it down to CMCC in Mitchell but surprise surprise got the 'what do you want us to do about it' routine. On another subject queried if they could look at my fork seals for warranty repair only to be told their a consumable item and seal deterioration on floor stock is unofficially warranted for 1 week.

Awesome customer care from CMCC and Yamaha

On the bright side they are happy to replace the fork seals as a pair with new oil for 280, but not till next year!
