hope to pick up a 09 tenere but a little info needed please

hi all
a little bit of info needed please,
ive been to have a look at a very nice 09 tenere today with very low k's (under 2000)he's had the bike from new and found it too tall and with working away over sea's never liked riding the bike, the bike looks very clean and tidy apart from some deep marks over the head light,i hope i can find some one to buff this out

anyway on starting the bike up from cold the bike sounds nice, but on giving it a few small rev's, it was popping from the muffler,is this ok??is it normal,on my tenere some time back,it came with after market mufflers so i am not too sure?

also with the bike standing for the last 2yrs (and with 2yrs of dust on her)it only had the odd start up, and quick run around the block, will i have to do any thing to the bike?will the injector be good?or blocked up,or any other thing i should look at for,

the bike is 100% stock

just hoping he gets back to me with my offer

Popping in the exhaust is normal on the overrun, it's the AIS emission control doing its stuff. If its been standing you'll need to give it a full service, so factor that in the price. As for the "old fuel" in the system; if it runs, ticks over evenly and pulls OK it'll probably be fine, but only time will tell. Drain what fuel is in there and get some fresh stuff sucked through ASAP and it'll clean itself out. (FI systems aren't quite as problematic as carbs regarding old fuel gumming things up.)

hi all
just to let you know whats going on,and also thanks for the reply's

well the rain kept away so i could have a test ride on the girl, bike was very smooth, just as i remember the ten's being,so after some paper work the girls is all mine

on doing the paper work i found it to be a 2010 bike and not a 09,12 moths rego (road tax for you pommie's)and with only 1,400 k's on the clock i am very happy,

the owner did tell me that he has never washed the bike from new so ive got about 5mm of dust all over the bike to clean off

apart from the dust, there are some not too deep scratches on the head light, can anyone tell me if its possible to buff them out or not?

also i need a front light protector, the wire type one, anyone got a link please

ok so she's up in the shed about to get the best wash she has ever
had

p.s she is blue

Just in case you have no local supplier for the headlight guard.
