Help- bike behaving badly after a wash

Hi there,
I washed (just hose pipe) my bike but now it's got a bit of a miss and the engine light flickers erratically while on the move.
and
The ignition (clocks) shut off every now and then - time and trip meter get cleared too
logic tells me it's the same cause. Water in something

If I rock/knock/bump it on to the side stand the clocks go on and off like there's a short somewhere.

What have I done??
I obviously need to jiggle or blow-dry something
I suck at electrics where should i be looking
