Thanks guys ..prity interesting guese I as a little paranoid but it was the last time before the fill up it was just travell in around town and work .
I will try another trick when and where the warnings start and ride the tank dry to just see what milage I get . Have a petrol bottle on the back and fill the bike up when dry till I get to a fuel station .Cool ...thanks Martin |
I ran dry at 118km after the fuel trip meter started counting... I have filled up a few times at around 100km on trip without running dry.. If I do highway I will be very comfortable until 100km on reserve... Offroad I will push it till about 70km.

It works for me workin on the trip... It is something that starts counting automatically.. So you dont need to '0' anything when the fuel light starts flashing... Also it does not matter if you started with a full tank or not.. The reserve trip will start at pretty much the same time always.
Forward thinking from Yamaha if you ask me :-) |

150 miles (about 242km) seems pretty low for the reserve to flash. If I don't cane mine too hard mine usually comes on at about 320km fully loaded. Admittedly that distance would be drastically reduced in heavy winds or sloppy dirt roads- or if I belt the s*** out of it. Rooted sprocket sets are bad for power and decent mileage as well. (sorry about the lecture:BangHead:)
