Trip to the Brecons

Thought id take a run done to the Brecons from northampton yesterday to get the rest of the run in mileage done total mileage for the day was 326 miles, mixture of b-roads/a-roads and dual carriage way impressions were :

Good

Vibes not that bad at all (coming from a ktm rc8 the ten is heaven lol)

fuel consumption is brilliant (280 to a tank with still some left reckon it would go 300 miles)

done some light lanes found it very capable even with the standard tourances

very capable touer could easly do 400 miles in a day

never felt as tho it needed anymore power (thats not to say that i would like some lol)

will sit at 75/80 all-day long

Bad

Buffeting become quite a pain after a while so screen extender will be on the list

seat becomes a pain in the rear after about 200 miles (gunna play about with adding some memory foam to the orginal seat foam)

started to notice some "surging" when held at a constant throttle ( pipe/filter and kev mod next on list)

spent the last couple of days doing some mods ie, hard wiring satnav/heated grips/aux socket and ufo handgaurds will get some pics asap.

overall im loving the new tenere with a few slight mods it will be even better !!

I found that taking the slack out of the cush drive on my bike cured surging completely. I just cut 4 strips of reinforced 5mm 'belt' rubber thenplaced them against the drive side rubbers. Then I lubed the rubbers with rubber grease. After a reasonably hard 1700 km, mostly fully loaded, there is still no slack and no surging. However, those overworked dampers are stuffed and should be replaced.

Another one here saying drivetrain will be causing your surging.
