Home made GPS holder
Hello,
i have the mother in law at home for 2 weeks so I figured it was time I spent some time in the garage :D So I killed the last 2hours doing that: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...0820-00692.jpg A small frame for my GPS. Side view: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...0820-00691.jpg so: I cut and wrapped 2 pieces of an old tyre tube around the bar, and wrapped some black tape around it to keep it tight. then, I used a length of whatchamacallit (metal strip with holes... pardon my french :p ) I folded it for strength and added 2 horizontal pieces for rigidity. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...0820-00694.jpg then I wrapped a piece of inner tyre tube around the top piece as the bolts were quite close to the screen and it'll serve to reduce vibration/damage. The GPS plastic craddle is held by cabl ties because I just have one, son I need to be able to put it back in the car :D :D Et voila ! |
Love seeing home made mods

Nice work zOU!
This is my homemade gps-holder... well adapter actually.
I had kept a nuvi 550 and TT holder from my previous bike, but this time around I want to keep the gps where I can actually se it. But guess what! I didn't want to spend 60 extra for an adaptor from TT, so I made up my own out of 40cm alu bar. It's cheap and does the job. http://se.fotoalbum.eu/images1/20100...6/00000001.jpg http://se.fotoalbum.eu/images1/20100...6/00000002.jpg http://se.fotoalbum.eu/images1/20100...6/00000003.jpg http://se.fotoalbum.eu/images1/20100...6/00000004.jpg http://se.fotoalbum.eu/images1/20100...6/00000005.jpg |
nice job....
I use one of these E-bay jobs... they work well other the screen can be hard to see in some light angles.. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/GN032-WPCS-5-...eL5sg~~_35.JPG |
