Tenere screen extender thingy

Posted this on ABR too:

Anyone have any experience of using the Touratech screen spoiler? I'm hoping to cure the Tenere's turbulence but it's nigh on 100 http://www.adventurebikerider.com/co...ns/shocked.png
Puig do one but don't know whether the quality will be ok, any others to consider? Don't want a bigger screen, just a removable extension

I had the Skidmarx taller screen until I broke it (not the screen's fault!) and it was a super bit of kit and far better looking/value than the TT jobbie.

Will buy another one at some point as it does get a bit tiring dipping your head over 70..

I had a Touratech thingy on mine before the bike got stolen. It worked pretty well for me but:
- it is totally overpriced
- you cannot change the incliniation like you can with spoilers from MRA or Wunderlich. If it is ok as is for your height and riding position that's not an issue. If it is not entirely ok there's nothing you can do about it.

I've fitted a Puig deflector to my Tenere - the angle is adjustable and it is tightened by stainless allen bolts. Not cheap at 65 from Ebay but it worked a treat on my recent trip to Nordkapp. Buffetting is much reduced and you can ride with the visor up at speeds up 60mph. You can buy it in 3 different screen heights too.

Thanks Rup, what height did you get? Any pics of it in place?

Alot depends on how tall you are, i have a Givi screen which is 10cm taller than stock. It does make a difference but is not perfect. I also have a Touratech spoiler which is lockable. I use the Touratech ontop of the Givi and its much better, although you might not like the fact that it does obscure your view a bit. I am 5ft 11 . Givi was 63 and Touratech was about 90. Dont forget that sometimes you want some air going over you when it is hot, so it depends what riding you do , and what lid you wear aswell . I have an Arai Tour X3. Also you get lots of air coming up under the forks so even if you do the screen that will still cause problems. Check out the threads on that as there are some cures.

make you're own

a cheap small piece of plastic and mount it to your screen will cost less than a tenner

someone else on here made a real sweet looking adjustable one.

They may be good but the TT ones should cost no more than 40 max

I have a TT one Im not using at the moment. There about 90 inc postage! . If you want mine I will sell it for 55 inc postage if anyones interested. Paypal by gift is fine.

It works for me so Im not that bothered about selling it if Im honest but if someone wants it thats fine.
