I agree with Dazzer, I found the Africa Twin was a little better for cruising onroad and had better corner stability. But that being said, overall the tenere is a much better bike, better weight, fuel consumption, brakes and easy to work on. The tenere surely is an upgrade.

I have a 3600 word report on my ownership in the process. Should be on line in the coming week.

I can only say that this bike takes me where I want to go and I sit on it for 10 hours on a Sunday. It's the biz.

The Tenere rocks and does just about everything..
You need to get the air in and out better than the standard bike to help it pull, so an uprated air filter / Kev's fuel mod or PC and exhaust are crucial.. |
As above. Sort the fueling, air filter and exhaust and you'll increase the useable rev range by 1000-1500rpm. Makes a huge difference to tractability.

I just fitted a 14 tooth front sprocket. Jobs a good un. lol

If your getting a second hand one I would strip the head stock and clean and repack the bearings with a good grease.. If you intend to take it off road , then fit a good alloy sump guard { although some have left the standered plastic one on and it's been fine } the GIT from Adv spec seems the strongest out there at the moment. And thats about it . ps your will save on fuel as the Tenere does about 25 miles to the gallon more than the Africa twin :toothy10: |
