Ignition fuse keeps blowing off

hi to all, well, i have a problem with my 2007 xtr, the 10amp ignition fuse keeps blowing. it hapened about 6-7 times, 2 days in a row and i noticed it hapens when the engine is over heated ( trafic in london) and after the fan kicks in. to get hone today i had to put a 20amp fuse in after i blew the other 3 -10amp fuses i had spare. so, the fan works ok, last year i fitted an aux fuse box connected to the ignition wire, but i checked all the connections, i even removed the fuses from the aux fuse box, but the main 10amp ignition fuse keeps blowing. i know it must be a short somewhere or something but where do i start looking? i'm going to check the wiring again today, but if anyone has any ideea is moew then welcome to share it with me. :confused1: thanks

nothing yet, after 3 days at my local yamaha place, they still try to find the fault. hope they fix it soon

check as well the connectors of the ignition coil. Had a wire there, that touched the holding mount of the coil and caused a similar problem.
For the search:
Disconnect all the connectors below the tank - left side and the relais on the right.
If the fuses still blows up you have less to look for.
In case the fuse holds, reconnect one conector at the time and check, when the fuse trips.
Basicly power leads from main (starter relais) to the kill switch and from there back to the ignition relais.

good luck,
Joe

These kinda faults can be a nightmare on cars and are quite comon and sometimes at door jams and places where the loom is being moved often.
