Wow this is looking really good. Going to be one hell of a XT. You going to do drag racing with it?
I was also looking at this mod but heating I think will be a problem and I do to many long trips for it to work for me in a very hot climate. Will just stick to the 686 cc oversize piston. Very nice mod though. :icon_thumleft: Cant wait to see the dyno tests. |
Cooling should be fine Kris has an oil cooler already on his bike & we can make up a water cooler if neccessary.
868cc cylinder is easier you machine the 102mm cylinder & fit it straight onto the Xt660 cases. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6Qg_4Ef_cA&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL |
734cc cylinder is now on, just waiting for the ported head.

The XT734cc is now a runner. :pjrflash_Q2CCBE:More news later.
|
holy sh|t! :wow:
|
cant wait to see the results... :woo:
|
Out of curiousity Kev, why stick with injection instead of a carb upgrade like a FCR or TM pumper?
|
Fuel injection is much better than carbs, you have better control of the A/F ratio with fuel injection. Most carbs have 6 points of adjusting the A/F ratio a power commander you have around 276 points of adjustment.
|
Well the results are out, Kris just sent me an SMS
74 rear wheel HP & 60 ftlb of torque.
Holy cow this is going to one fast XT, Kris will email me the dyno runs & I will post them as soon as I get them. Well done Kris you have built a monster XT. |
That would be soooooo! much fun in an R on the dirt, knooby killer hehe.:eusa_think:
|
Wow....what a cracker of a result!!
Well done guys!! :mbounce: |
I hope to have a ride this Saturday.
|
I think an extra-long swinging arm and dolly wheels on the back will be the next mod!!!!!!!
|
That is big HP from a XT motor, I can't believe how much torque this build has produced. Well done Kris you have done well.
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a.../KrisXT734.jpg This dyno run is against my standard XT660X. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...ris734ccXT.png |
:077: Yes the next mod may need to be wheelie bars !
its a great result and heaps of fun building. its like riding a bucking bronco, it flattens off a bit after 180klms, but gets there fast (I think DL700's 5050 cam would help carry the touque past 6500rpm) have not wound it out far enough to hit the limiter in top gear yet but it will pull 94mph out of 3rd gear. All testing done on the track of course right Kev. |
That's right all track tested, not ridden on the public roads at those speeds. :smilies0347:
|
I met up with Kris today & I have to say this has to be the fastest single cylinder motorcycle I have ever ridden, it just keeps on pulling & that 60 ft-lbs of torque I love it.
|
wow thats sounds great. can you ship that bike to sweden so i can try it out to see if i wanna make a mod like this on my bike? please :D
|
Have done a few more mod's
Now running a HDD5050 cam, kw valve spring kit. Also have converted it back to ULP using a 12.5-1 cp piston machined flat top, still 105.5mm bore. Its much smoother down low with the lower compression and Ulp fuel, but the cam is crazy!! it pulls hard all the way to the rev limiter. Also got a few other things to do when i get a bit more free time. Thanks to Daniel from High Desert Dyno/HDD Motorsports (USA) for all my raptor 700 parts and his machining service's |
Well cool. I want one.
|

When are you going to do some power runs with the 5050 cam on the Dyno so we can see the results? |
did we ever get the 5050 cam results ?
|
Hi guys
Someone knows if it's possible to have 700cc Raptor complete ported head (with HotCams stage 3 + bigger inlet et outlet valves + without AIS hole at front) mounted on 734cc Raptor cylinder ? Because I want to do this on my XT660Z Tnr 08 :eusa_angel: 700cc Raptor head with this type of mod (you can see the closed AIS hole on the second picture) : http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...skhmmwi15.jpeg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...sawr84wko.jpeg |
Weld the 2x holes up or get 2 bungs machined up to block the holes then shape the port.
