Sweary hammer
Changed the tyres on the Ten on Sunday. Despite it only being 3 months since the rear spindle was out it had managed to seize into the wheel spacer. I had to unleash Derek the lead hammer to get the spindle free.
Seems to be Yamahas that have this problem. My old SR had a very stuck rear spindle, and the swingarm spindle was so seized I had to welt it out with a sledgehammer. Anyway the Ten spindle came up ok with some scotchbrite, and went back in oiled and greased. Just a word to the wise that if yours hasn't been out for a while, maybe get it out and grease it up. |
