Let's hope they're not made of the same soft cheese that Yamaha use.

I bought the Wemoto ones 3,000km's ago, following a wheel-change over the weekend, I can confirm that these will soon be needing the Kev mod. So they are cheesey.

I did the kev mod to mine. I used a standard Michelin tube. After about 2K miles I had therear whell off for cleaning and found only two bits of tube left. The rest had melted and was in balls of rubber. The cush rubber was also really bad. Maybe i should have used a UHD tube? Any way replaced the tube with some more of the same but will need to check again in a couple of K miles.

Although it helps it is not a complete solution.

This would be the first reported case of the mod not working. You need to make sure you have packed the rubbers very tight so there is no movement in the hub when assembled, you can double up on the inner tube if necessary & can use talcum powder for lube to assemble the hub & sprocket holder together.

Thanks Kev, Next time the wheel is off i will try to pack it out more. Although it is quite tight and a struggle to get the whell back in as the sprocket carrier is a little proud du to its tightness.

A mate always does this with his bikes. Swears that spraying everything with WD40 prior to squeezing everything together works well. The tighter the better (to a point) He's not had any failures that I know of.

Had mine apart today, 9100 miles and quite tired, so replaced with wemoto rubbers AND innertube packing. It was pretty tight going back together. I'll report back later.
