Dumb and Dumber just won't give up

Tday we decided to head over to Inverness and then head South along an old military road built in the early 1700s connecting Inverness through to Moy, Blair Athol, Pitlochary and down to Perth.
It started of with a slippery track with show melt running down it - no bother - just take it easy and we'll be alright!
Surely it wont be too far to the top of the moor and through the forest..........not

http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...1/kghghkj6.jpg

C'ant be far now to the top then at least gravity is with us! Jesus it was hard work with legs paddling like hell just to move forward with the front tyre washing out and the back spinning like hell. At this point I remember saying to Jim I aint turning back now, we must be near the top (again).

Jim doesn't look to impressed - but it cant be to far to the top I said (again, again )

By this time we had jumped off the bikes sweating and slumped into the nice cold snow a few times.

Who's idea was this - knackered, hot, sweating and swearing a lot.

Never ever, ever, ever again

Finally got through then a ride down to Carrbridge

I think its called the spirit of adventure. I too have "good" ideas sometimes.
Just wish i had some tracks like that locally. Great pics.

What - you mean dumb?

jimmysimpson 22-03-11 00:08

Ha ha ha . It was a good day. I would have prefered the ground brown or green and not white but we did it. lol. Warm day and big snow melt but not enough at that altitude. :035:

To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Good to see you both being young still :)
Looks like fun despite all the sweating.

SURE!!!

My problem is: I think too much, too sensible, too cautious...

... they say when you're getting older you return to your childhood...

... passing through puberty first....

...but this time WITH EXPERIENCE!!!! Aint that GREAT!!!

Certif#ckingfiable, for sure :038:

Note to self, always reply to Fiddichs offers of a ride out with a plausable excuse, like your going on holiday somewhere warm, or somfing!

Time has taught me that sometimes it is better not to think with your brain but to put it away for a wee while and think with either your blood pump or your pecker - life usually gets a bit more exciting that way - but don't do it for too long, just now and again just to prove that you are still alive.:smilies0349:

A cool sentiment Ian, Every now and then would be every weekend then. I can live with that.

It was actually quite warm. The snow was false, I mean dissapearing fast, but not fast enough. Very wet and slippy under tyre. We were both sweatin buckets because we were still thermally lined. Ther was a serious depth of snow fall last week in that area. Goin back soon. Brilliant track.

jimmysimpson 23-03-11 23:45

Actually, we didn't know what we were getting into till we were committed to it and we refused to give up once halfway. I've started so I'll finish sort of thing man.
