Another big YAY for MTC - I've posted several times about what a great pair of exhausts they are etc. Now a post for their customer care.... as I'm selling my exhausts having returned the bike to standard for sale I noticed two of the rubber strips that protect the exhaust from the straps were a little worn where the rear tyre had caught. Used the 'contact us' form on their website to enquire how to purchase some more, had a reply within 30 mins asking for my address so they could post some out free, and lo and behold they arrived the next morning in the post.
10/10 for MTC! |
Enough allready...
I'm sitting here eagerly awaiting the phone call from the guys at MTC to say the Single Can option for the Tenere is in and ready....
The alloy sheet is all primed and waiting to be morphed into a new tail tidy and maybe a toolbox...... but,, I NEED THE CAN!! :tongue8: |

let's wait and see now... :clock: In the meantime, not having looked at a Tenere before in details, I am not so sure which side would be ideal for the single can to be. So... where would anyone think it would be better to have the single can, left side (chain side) or right side (disc brake side) and why? What would be the more practical reason for either one side or the other. Thanks |
I dont have the exact picture of Tenere in my mind but at least for XT the disc side is better, leaves more room for chain maintenance.

Recently got my MTC exhaust
Met up with Martyn at the Stafford show and got a good deal so went direct. Ordered Satin black with a satin link pipe. No shiny bits please! Got the Exhaust and link pipe a few days later and boy was it nice................................and extremely loud! Went over to my brothers' house last weekend and he could hear me at least half a mile away! Got in touch with MTCV and they supplied me with a small 'pepperpot' to fit in the front part of the exhaust, it sandwiches between the link pipe and the silencer itself. Still too loud ! This afternoon I went over to see them again but with the bike this time and they took the end part of the silencer out which is a smaller diameter pipe and is secured by a cap screw. They already had another pipe made up but with a perforated tube end and a blank right at the end (if that makes sense!) Still too loud so they cut the parforated part down retaining the blank end and hey presto a nice sound, not too loud and I recon about the same as the standard can. Came home this afternoon along the M6 and M62, giving it some beans and I can actually hear my sat nav now (MP3 ya know!) performance is similar to the standard can if a bit better. Cannot comment on fuel economy but at least I can go up into the Dales / Lakes / Scotland and not upset anyone! http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1158.jpg http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1159.jpg http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1160.jpg http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1161.jpg http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1163.jpg Oh and of course new Tucano handlebar muffs. Super warm but butt ugly! http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1165.jpg http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1167.jpg http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/a...c/DSCF1157.jpg |
