could this be done
 
first off could this be done .i am thinking off useing my x wheels to make a set off r wheel.ie useing the hubs and brake spacering to make a pair up. so i just nead to get rims and spokes etc .... 2nd could it be done?3rd anyone no were ? cheers

It can be done yes. Using the x hubs stops any spacing trouble. Central wheels offer the service to respoke and change rims. I checked last week and it's not cheap at all.

In short yes it's possible.

i know it wont be cheap but its cheaper than a new bike .thanks

Don't be too sure that's correct. Factor in suspension mods to soften the x, lower it, better tyres, a disc thats too effective for off road use so needs swapping, insurance issues and before you know it you may as well swap for an r.

I considered it last week with help on this forum and I decided to keep my x for a while longer before I commit to something else and it would be yamaha but maybe a wr, ttr, etc etc.

It really depends on the sort off off road riding you want to do. From your recent thread on the snowy ride I guess the R would be ideal.
