I used that connection for my gps only.

Could someone please post a pic from the connector? I'm not sure which one you're talking about and I'm looking for a new power source to get my phone and spare batteries charged.

Thanks!

The black panel under the clocks, remove the 2 screws with the comp limiters on the lower corners. Pull the panel off and "hey presto" its right there before your very eyes. All you need is an allen key and 1 minute to get to it.

Spare electrical socket (Hitachi Type)

Hi guys, The socket you are referring to has had much discussion in the past and many explanations as to what it it is, many people have used it succesfully without any problems but if you find the old thread on this someone actually contacted Yamaha themselves to get to the bottom of it and were officially told that it is a " Diagnostic" connector ! after which many changed it back to the original socket after cutting there's off.
I would say that there is no problem utilising it with the correct connector (Hitachi Type: as per Demon Tweeks Catalogue) with an in-line fuse thereby allowing the option of the Diagnostics if required, hope this helps.

Do you have a link for the connector on the Demon Tweeks site, as I can't find it on there? Or is there a product code?

My dealer told me it's a POWER-suply for the diagnostics tool, as I'm also using it for the GPS, he said if he needed it he would get power somewhere else.
So you see, it's not very clear as why it is there, but it's safe to use.

Hi Guys, i checked the Demon Tweeks (2010) catalogue for the Hitachi connectors they dont have a specific part no. it says they are available in a number of "ways" i.e 2,3,4,6 & 9 and are 2.99 each or 7.99 per pack of 3, they are on page 145 of the catalogue.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Still had no joy with the Demon Tweeks website, order the catalogue though so will see when it arrives.

Googled the connector and found one on ebay and another website, is this the right one though???
