air/fuel ratio gauge
evening all , if one was to fit a air/fuel ratio gauge to ones xt660x while fiddling with the kev mod , would there be a specific one to use , or can i just pop to my local tuning shop and buy what i can afford , and am i right in sayin , they just need a pos n neg and a feed from the 02 sensor on the pipe or where ever it be
cheers razz |
Hi razz,
Dont waste your money, the only way you can measure the AFR is before the cat, thats what the lamda sensors job is , the kev mod is very clever by telling the ECU that its colder than the ambient air temp actually is, and as the AFR is only going to be richer there will be no chance of any engine damage (as in running lean) no 2 engines are the same , so i would just play with the variable resister settings out on the road untill you think the engine feels sweet. Hope this saves you some money Vtec |
thank you , i`m all up for not wasting cash

No worries,
Kev will probably confirm when he reads your post. V-tec |
If you want a A/F ratio meter you need to buy one of the wide band ones.
This is one to use, it can data log multiple events & shows real time A/F ratio, logs TPS/RPM against A/F ratio. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DynoJet-Wideband-Commander-O2-Sensor-Power-Digital-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5adc1716c9QQitemZ39023 9557321QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries I have tried the cheap ones & they just are not worth the money if you want to read the A/F ratio correctly. My fuel mod only adjusts the A/F ratio up to +1:1, so not really worth spending the money on a A/F ratio meter. |
