Would it be a good idea to change my rear rim from 17" to 18" ? It would give me a better selection of tyres, but would it have any adverse effects, other than my wallet? (approx �200)

I know that better tyres MAY help me in these early stages of offroad rally....plus better bike control (i know!!!)
