Fitting the KEV mod

I am a complete dufus when it comes to anything involving a screw driver....

I have only had my XTX '06 for a few weeks, and only experienced the dreaded surging issue when the weather got warmer 2 weeks back. I immediately PMed kev and capt'n, and ordered Kev's fuel mod, and a stage 1 & 2 DNA filter.

During 20 mins i fitted ALL of the bits. And although i have not ridden it yet, the difference in how free the engine is astounds me. Now i just need to get saddle time, and fine tune the settings.

Bravo KEV, hefty slap on the back from me. I'll report more after some riding (if anyone is interested)

Stu

still getting a bit of surging. i had the switch set just past 1 oclock, so have a added a bit more to it to take it to just past 2.

do i need to alter the CO readings in the doag mode? i have read in other threads that you advise altering these, but nothing was mentioned in the instructions during instal.

how will i know if i have TOO much dialled in on the fuel mod??

I did warn you kev. i am as technically talented as a non-technical thing with no technical talent :S

Where is your co set to & what are your last 2 digits on your ECU?

You can safely turn the dial all the way to the 10 O'Clock position. With your mods the dial could be set between 1 to 8 O'Clock. Start at 1 & riding the bike turn the mod clockwise until you find the smoothest ride & leave it there.

Also make sure your chain is adjusted correctly & that there is no free play in the rear sprocket holder as these 2 item also cause the bike to surge.

I can remember when i got my Stg 2 DNA and Kev fuel mod (already had the Stg1) and it felt so much more smooth, powerfull and definiately wanted to play more with the sportsbikes!!!!:guitar player:

Just make sure you chain is adjusted properly and your cush drive rubbers are not knackered or are packed properly before changing just much on the KEV mod, ive found these needed changed more checked before i spent move anything on the KEV mod

I had a stage1+2 and a Kev fuel mod on my X when I had it and found I could pop the front wheel up quite easy when I wonted to :BaseballHat_LNY2EG: its a great mod well worth having.
