Anyone Tried These Aux Lights?
i'm still looking for a decent set of aux lights as i'm not keen on what i've found so far. the halford's one are the closest but i don't really like the look of the blue outside edge. everything else is silly money.
these are on ebay anyone used them? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Projector-Ligh...83665396153396 |
Very close to the Hella ones. I found using extra spots with normal bulbs, gps and heated jacket ended up with a flat battery + heated grips. Went to LED spots which are superb and just the GPS + heated jacket and have not had any problems since.

there were some LED lights on ebay (same as the ones the guys on the adv site is selling) but now i can't find them ?
|
I've got a set of those...
They're Fogs not spots so dont "project" much light up the road. Theres a rudimentary beam cutoff inside the lense (fixed steel shutter blocking half the lense) I removed this and comverted them to HiDs. They now light up the local area very well but still dont offer a long beam . In reality they are just cheap chinese tat so dont expect them to rival hellas etc. |

Yes I did find those as well in end. The guy in the states sells floods and spots in these type as well. Will look around the net a bit.

They are similair to the ones I got from Halfords, I changed the bulbs to 35w ones The bracket snapped on both of them due to the vibrations on the thin brackets mounts on them |

Thx for the tip.
I've just ordered these and plan to fit them to some H&B crash bars!! Should be just the ticket for the Lakes midnight BBQ.... Pic's to follow at some point. |
Or, you can get these for 59 (the pair)
http://www.bikevis.com/motorcycle-cr...ng-lights.html Bikevis do a discount scheme for the Bullets, not sure if they would be able to do a discount for these.... might be worth the question though. I know one member has bought them, so might be worth seeing the results ? |

Professional high Intensity Discharge (HID)
XENON
FLASHLIGHT
High Intensity Discharge (HID) is a new type of lighting technology that's primarily different from the conventional halogen bulbs that use a heated tungsten filament. Unlike Halogen lamps, High-Intensity-Discharge (HID) lamps don't have a filament but create light by the arc between two electrodes. The arc activates the Xenon, which in turn ignites the metal halide. The light produced by an HID Xenon lighting system is greater than a standard halogen bulb and with less power consumption. HID Xenon lighting systems appear as a bright white beam which resembles natural daylight. The bright white beam offers greater visibility and is now being used on modern motor vehicles.
Brightest torch in the world, 3500 lumens! Used by military, law enforcement, border patrol, fire departments, marine/coast guard. http://www.megalaseruk.com/images/ml-hid.jpg In an HID Xenon lighting system, the voltage between the two electrodes rises firstly from 12V to 23000V and keeps stable at 8000V by using the Xenon HID ballasts system. Due to the ultra high voltage, the Xenon gas ionizes and a super-bright beam is produced, whose colour temperature is up to 12000K. The HID Xenon lighting is much more economic, more stable and much brighter than any conventional lighting. http://www.megalaseruk.com/images/hid-case-single.jpg http://www.megalaseruk.com/images/hid-pic.jpg

NO - Do Not Use Bikevis!!!!!
I have tried the Bikevis bullets and they were absolutely crap. I advise very strongly you stay well away from this guy. After the first set were mounted on my Ten' (holes drilled in the plastic tank shrouds) they then failed and the replacements he sent were also crap. After a few e-mails and Bikevis saying he knows he has quality problems, I had a sense of humour failure. Some free sh1te to make it all OK didn't go down well with me either. Like I say, buy from Bikevis at your own peril, but I wouldn't touch them again and definitely do not drill your bike for their rubbish products. I really should have kept their e-mail that admitted the problems and that that was just life!! Like I say their products are complete rubbish.. Oh - in my experience anyhow!! Rant over. |
